Accessorizing an Office
You've bought the furniture. It's all arranged just right to make certain you and your employees can get the job done. But, something's still
missing.
There's nothing tying it all together. The walls are bare, the desktops vacant beyond papers and computers and the overall feeling is bland,
institutional and down right boring.
You need something more to make the atmosphere come alive.
If you've already bought your office furniture and it's been set up where it will function the best, but you find yourself in this situation
where the atmosphere is dank and dull, some office furniture accessories and lighting will go a long way toward tying the entire office together.
You can give your office a decorator's touch without having to spend a fortune, too. Think about pictures, photographs, accent tables or even
flowers, books or tastefully arranged trade or general reading magazines to help set the tone when accessorizing an office.
When it comes to adding some touches to the walls, it's a good idea to go with a theme of sorts. Whether it's modern, traditional, nautical or
metro, the choice is yours. But if you pick a theme and stick with it, you'll find making the rooms in your office come together will be not only
a rewarding venture, but a fun one, too.
Pictures for an office don't have to cost a lot either. You can find simple prints and frame them tastefully, or even go with photographs that
tickle your fancy and place them in gallery frames and hang appropriately. Great professional photos and prints can be found in galleries, online
and even from local newspapers and art stores. Just shop around and have fun.
Once the walls are done, it's time to consider lighting. You'll want enough light for your employees to work effectively, without eye strain,
but not too much to overburden the room. A nice mix of typical office lights with some warmer lamps generally sets a good tone. Add to this some
directional lights suitable for framed art and you'll have an office that looks like it's been decorated by a pro.
Don't forget the little touches like window treatments, plants, magazines in the waiting areas and similar such "personal touches," too.
