Theme for Your Office Design
A well decorated and designed office speaks to a company's professionalism and attention to detail. An office should not only be functional,
but it should send out a message that the people who work there know how to get the job done - regardless of the job.
Unfortunately, many companies can not afford for a huge decorating budget. But, just because a designer may not be a possibility, that
doesn't mean overall appearance needs to suffer. With a little imagination, brainstorming and some smart shopping for office furniture and accessories, an office can be functional and attractive on a tight budget.
The first thing to do before filling an office up with furniture and accessories is to brainstorm a theme. This must be done while keeping in
mind what tools are necessary for the office to function efficiently.
In general, here are some ideas for different decorator themes:
- Traditional - Dark wood desks off set by rich jewel colors for the walls, carpeting and window treatments. Lighting here plays are real
role in helping keep a traditional office from being too dark. Bright lights and colorful paintings can spruce it up.
- Modern - Lighter woods and bright colors mixed with metals and pastel or bold artwork. This setting is especially good for the more
creative trades and even for companies that want to show their youthful vigor.
- Basic - Simple designs offset by functional furniture with accessories to tie a look all together.
- Whimsical - Functional furniture that's a bit bolder mixed with modern art and bright or bold colors. This is also good for offices that
deal with a lot of creativity. In these cases, personality is key and conveying it is a must.
As there are hundreds of different kinds of business, there are also hundreds of themes for decorating them. Whatever you choose, go with
something that makes you and your employees comfortable while speaking to your ability to do your jobs better than anyone else. Giving off a
sense of competence and success with the furniture and decorating can go along way to boosting morale and even customer confidence.
